On April 27, 2025, the golden sunshine poured over every inch of the land of Houwang Elementary School in Wangfen Town, Qingzhou City, casting a warm glow on this campus hidden among the green mountains. Under the witness of Ma Guangwei, member of the Education Working Committee of Qingzhou Municipal Party Committee, Chen Xiaosong, deputy director of the Party Construction Office of Wangfen Town, Wang Gongxue, director of Wangfen School District, and the headmaster of Houwang Primary School, Han Xue, Sunhope's love ambassador, Sun Xingliang and his wife, together with many Sunhope's love people, gathered here to welcome the unveiling ceremony of the 253rd public welfare school assisted by Sunhope Public Welfare Foundation with all teachers and students of Houwang Primary School.
At the event, as the red silk slowly unfolded, the brand new school plaque shone brightly. This is not only an important part of Sunhope's public welfare map, but also a commitment to education across mountains and seas. It carries the deep concern of all sectors of society for education in mountainous areas, lighting the beacon for children's pursuit of knowledge, injecting a continuous stream of hope and strength into the education cause in mountainous areas, and allowing the seeds of knowledge to bloom brilliantly on this land.
From "bumpy playground" to "growth paradise"
Hardware upgrade lights up children's dreams
Before renovation
Houwang Primary School is located in Houwang Village, a national civilized village, and is a typical "pocket sized" school in mountainous areas. Most of the students here come from the surrounding mountainous villages, and there are only 160 students in the school. Although the school is not large in scale, it is full of vitality and energy. The school always adheres to the motto of "moving forward towards truth, goodness, and excellence", and all teachers adhere to the educational philosophy of "teaching calmly and wholeheartedly", making hard efforts for the growth of children.
In recent years, Houwang Primary School has continuously explored and innovated in the field of education and teaching, achieving remarkable results with refined management and multi-dimensional development strategies. The school has successively won more than ten provincial and municipal honorary titles such as Shandong Green School and Weifang Smart Campus, becoming a banner of education in mountainous areas. However, due to its mountainous location, remote geographical position, and relatively backward economic conditions, the hardware facilities of the school have always been a difficult problem for teachers and students. Especially with the nearly 2000 square meter playground, due to long-term use, the land has developed extensive cracks and uneven surfaces, causing great inconvenience to students' sports activities and posing significant safety hazards.
After transformation
Nowadays, playgrounds have become children's favorite "playground". In the past, students always had to carefully stare at the bumpy ground under their feet while running, afraid of tripping if they were not careful. Now, stepping on the soft plastic track, children's steps have become lighter and they can take bigger strides. In physical education class, students can freely tap and dribble on a flat basketball court, and the basketball will no longer suddenly change direction due to uneven ground; On the brand new football field, they can happily team up with their friends to play football, even if they accidentally fall, they won't scratch their skin; On the badminton court, students can swing their racket freely and no longer have to worry about spraining their feet. In their spare time, children sit around the playground chatting and playing games, and laughter echoes throughout the campus. This flat and safe playground makes children look forward to finishing class soon and playing outside to their heart's content every day.
The fragrance of books permeates the mountains, and love spreads warmth

Sunhope Ambassadors of Love also meticulously prepared new school bags and exquisite stationery supplies, which were distributed to students who are excellent in both character and learning.
